Prevention and why does it matter?

By introducing a few small habits now, you can reduce the risk of a foot health problem such as ulceration, infection, gangrene, and amputation further down the line. But what is prevention? Dealing with something as soon as you notice it? Or stopping something before it causes worry? Once a foot problem starts it can be hard to resolve, and you might need to be off your feet, doing less of the things you love. That means that what you do between healthcare appointments and preventing a problem before it starts becomes even more important.

Any time your feet are in contact with a surface such as sitting, walking, driving, or cycling pressure could be building. A bit like high blood pressure, you don’t know it’s there but that doesn’t mean it isn’t having an impact.

Here's 3 small steps to keep you putting your best foot forwards

  1. Wear the devices and check the app and weekly reports for signs of pressure building

  2. Check your feet and footwear for anything that can cause a problem

  3. Get on with your day, worry free
